Nearly half of fresh graduates who completed the Graduate Industry Traineeship (GRIT) programme have found employment. More than 590 of 800 traineeship spots had been filled as of July, with more than 140 participants completing their stint. About four in 10 of those who secured jobs were hired by their host companies. Analysts say traineeships can help graduates enter an uncertain job market, but warn they should not become a substitute for regular hiring. Germaine Wong reports.
