Headmaster Rajendra Dawadi was at his school in Nepal's Bidur last Wednesday (Aug 26) when his accountant entered, shouting: "The flood is coming, the flood is coming!" The early warning helped save the lives of 900 students and around 16 faculty members. Dawadi quickly evacuated them from the Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School before a wall of water swept through the town just 14 minutes later. The school no longer exists.
