Indonesia replaces disaster agency chief as choking haze continues

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto replaced the head of the country's disaster mitigation agency (BNPB) on Thursday (Oct 15), as part of his third reshuffle of cabinet members and senior officials in just over a month. Army Lieutenant General Kristomei Sianturi succeeds Suharyanto as head of the agency, which is currently battling land and forest fires in Kalimantan and Sumatra that have blanketed parts of the regions in thick haze.
