Govt does not intervene in investment decisions of companies: Shanmugam on SIA-Air India matters

CNA4 hours ago2:40

Temasek portfolio companies must not make investment decisions out of fear or concern about politically motivated comments by critics of the government, Senior Minister K Shanmugam said on Saturday (Sep 5). Mr Shanmugam was responding to a Facebook post by Workers' Party MP Kenneth Tiong that said he would not support nor expect any future use of Temasek's funds to "prop up Air India via Singapore Airlines". He also reiterated that the government does not intervene in companies' individual investment decisions. "Mr Tiong is entitled to his views," he said. "But neither his views nor that of any minister or any other MP should substitute for the commercial judgement of SIA's management and board of directors." #sgnews #singapore Subscribe to our channel here: https://cna.asia/youtubesub Visit our website: https://cna.asia Download our app: https://cna.asia/app Get our editors' picks of stories via chat apps: Telegram: https://cna.asia/telegram WhatsApp: https://cna.asia/whatsapp Follow us on these platforms: https://www.facebook.com/channelnewsasia https://www.instagram.com/channelnewsasia https://www.tiktok.com/@channelnewsasia
