A Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv was diverted to Saudi Arabia on Sep 30 after the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the captain before passengers managed to save the plane from crashing. Oleksandra Molloy, senior lecturer in aviation safety and human factors at UNSW Canberra, says the incident could lead to tighter security checks for pilots and crew, as investigators examine how a weapon ended up in the cockpit.
