El Nino could worsen ‘perfect storm’ threatening global food security: Economist

Extreme weather linked to El Nino could disrupt crop production across different countries and put pressure on global food security and prices, says David Ubilava, associate professor of economics at the University of Sydney. Speaking to CNA’s Asia First, Ubilava says existing food security pressures, combined with the developing El Nino, are creating what he describes as a “perfect storm”.
