Bangkok declared disaster zone amid widespread flooding

Thailand's capital has been declared a disaster zone after days of rain triggered flooding across all 50 districts. Nearly 4,900 people have been evacuated to shelters and around 52,000 households affected, according to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Floodwaters have inundated parts of Bangkok, particularly central and eastern areas, leaving roads impassable and disrupting traffic.
