Japanese mall operator Aeon's president, Akio Yoshida, apologised to the public on Wednesday (Jul 29) after an explosion ripped through one of its shopping centres in Kumamoto prefecture, which was struck by a powerful magnitude-7.1 earthquake on Tuesday. Hundreds of rescue workers are battling to reach possible survivors trapped beneath the rubble. Officials said at least 10 people have been pulled from the debris, with four confirmed dead.
