Two students are dead following a school shooting at Ateneo de Zamboanga University in Mindanao, southern Philippines on Tuesday (Aug 18). The shooter, a ninth-grade student, killed a 10th-grade classmate before taking his own life. Police confirmed he brought both a pistol and a rifle onto campus and livestreamed the attack using a body cam. The Facebook account used for the livestream has since been disabled. Authorities are investigating the motive and how the student obtained the firearms. The father of the alleged gunman, a customs officer, has been relieved of his post and is under investigation for possible negligence in handling his firearms.
