Livestock futures face a choppy end to the week as Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle contracts push higher while Lean Hogs see softer price action. December Live Cattle futures gain $1.05 to settle at $222.15, supported by firm boxed beef prices and a lower weekly slaughter of 389,000 head. November Feeder Cattle futures surge $13.97 on the week to mark the highest weekly close since July. Meanwhile, Lean Hog futures slip despite a bullish USDA quarterly report showing all hogs and pigs down 2%, outpacing analyst expectations of a 0.8% decline.
