December Live Cattle futures gave back Monday's gains to close $1.80 lower at $223.35 amid mixed wholesale boxed beef reports and daily slaughter of 106,000 head. October Feeder Cattle futures fell $4.00 to close at $333.80. December Lean Hog futures dropped $1.60 to a new contract closing low of $69.65, sending the Relative Strength Index into oversold territory as fund short positions remain near record levels.
