CMC Markets1 day ago17:30

US inflation data is the focus this week, with September’s consumer price index report due at 1.30pm (UK time) today, followed by the producer price index and retail sales on Thursday, and import and export prices on Friday. Core CPI is expected to rise 0.2% month-on-month (versus 0.3% in August) and 2.5% year-on-year (up from 2.4%). Headline CPI is forecast to jump from 0.4% to 0.6% month-on-month, and from 3.4% to 3.6% year-on-year. The week’s data releases will feed into how markets assess the Federal Reserve’s likely rate path, with markets currently pricing in one more US rate hike in 2026.
