Zheng Yongnian: Chinese modernization is an 'open-source' approach to development

CGTN3 hours ago1:43

Chinese modernization is an "open-source" approach that seeks to share development opportunities with other countries, with no intention of imposing its development model on others, said Zheng Yongnian, dean of the School of Public Policy under the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Asia-Pacific Regional Cooperation Roundtable. Zheng said China hopes to "extend the ladder" it has climbed to other developing countries, adding that China's own development would not be sustainable if other countries remained underdeveloped. He said countries can learn from China's experience while adapting it to their own civilizations, cultures and national conditions. Zheng also noted that China has proposed an "open-source" AI zone for BRICS countries at the BRICS Summit just concluded on Sunday. He said greater access to AI technologies could provide developing countries and the Global South with more opportunities to participate in technological development. 📺 Subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay updated with our latest analysis and interviews:👇 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgrNz-aDmcr2uuto8_DL2jg 👈 Download our APP on Apple Store (iOS): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cctvnews-app/id922456579?l=zh&ls=1&mt=8 Download our APP on Google Play (Android): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imib.cctv For more: https://www.cgtn.com/video Most watched videos: Impossible Challenge: 30 seconds to count banknotes BLINDFOLDED https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmP_Ybj-jws Impossible Challenge: Gymnastics Boy Arat Hosseini from Iran! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sxX--U4c8w Impossible Challenge: How to calm babies in 5 seconds? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR3q9sXM7WA
