Stringer Dispatch: Gazans call for international aid as 8,000 bodies still under rubble

Around half the remains recovered from Gaza City's rubble this month were women and children, the head of the UN Human Rights Office in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Ajith Sunghay, said on September 15. Another 8,000 or more are still buried in the debris across the Strip. At the current pace, recovering them all could take more than a decade. According to Sunghay, Israel has been obstructing excavation and forensic work, making identification harder and risking the loss of evidence. CGTN Stringer spoke to residents in Gaza.
