Rocket Revolution: Space for All or Space for the Few?

CGTN5 hours ago31:00

World Space Week begins on 4 October, with this year's "Rocket Revolution" theme highlighting how more countries and companies are gaining access to space. Europe is developing its own launch capability, while its joint SMILE mission with China shows that cooperation remains possible even as nations compete in space. But cheaper launches also raise questions about who controls access to orbit and who benefits from the investment here on Earth. Is the rocket revolution opening space to more of the world, or giving the countries and companies with the deepest pockets an even bigger advantage? Joining Juliet Mann this week are Colin Forsyth, Associate Professor in Space Plasma Physics at University College London's Mullard Space Science Laboratory, Simonetta Di Pippo, former Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, and Quentin Parker, Emeritus Professor at the University of Hong Kong. ๐Ÿ“บ Subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay updated with our latest analysis and interviews:๐Ÿ‘‡ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgrNz-aDmcr2uuto8_DL2jg ๐Ÿ‘ˆ Download our APP on Apple Store (iOS): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cctvnews-app/id922456579?l=zh&ls=1&mt=8 Download our APP on Google Play (Android): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imib.cctv For more: https://www.cgtn.com/video Most watched videos: Impossible Challenge: 30 seconds to count banknotes BLINDFOLDED https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmP_Ybj-jws Impossible Challenge: Gymnastics Boy Arat Hosseini from Iran! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sxX--U4c8w Impossible Challenge: How to calm babies in 5 seconds? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR3q9sXM7WA
