President Xi replies to US university students

Chinese President Xi Jinping recently replied to students from 10 US universities who wrote to him after attending youth exchanges in China. Xi noted that he was delighted to learn that the students enjoyed a pleasant and memorable journey in China. Xi said he was pleased to hear that the students expressed in the letter their appreciation for Chinese civilization, their hope for friendly cooperation between China and the United States, and their willingness to act as envoys of friendship bridging the Pacific Ocean. Young people from China and the United States, Xi said, share the same planet Earth and jointly shoulder the mission of the times. He expressed hope that the students would join the vast number of young people in both countries in striving to carry forward, uphold and advance China-US friendly cooperation, and work together to foster mutual understanding and affinity between the two peoples and to ensure the steady and long-term development of bilateral relations, so as to contribute the vitality of youth to building a better world.
