Oct. 7: Palestinians' daily struggle, Israel's new security measures three years after Hamas attack

It has been three years since Hamas and other militant groups launched an attack on Israel, killing at least 1,200 people and taking over 250 people hostage. In the immediate aftermath, Israel declared war against Hamas and began a rapid bombing campaign in the Gaza Strip. Over 74,000 Palestinians have been killed in the three-year onslaught, according to the Gazan Health Ministry, though the number might be much higher. Hunger and health continue to be a struggle within the enclave. And while life has become increasingly fragile for Palestinians, Israel has increased its security apparatus.
