Dolphin mother carries deceased calf through water in act of mourning

Researchers in Western Australia have captured rare drone footage of a dolphin mother carrying her dead calf through the water in what they say is an extended display of grief. The calf, born just two weeks earlier in the Leschenault Estuary, died after showing signs of respiratory distress. Drone footage filmed by Geographe Marine Research on July 19 and 20 shows the mother, known as "Fraggle," continuing to carry her offspring while other dolphins appeared to stay nearby. Researchers said dolphins typically mourn for several days or up to a week, but Fraggle carried her calf for 11 days. It was also the fourth consecutive calf she has lost, according to the research group. #worldnow #dolphin #animal #mother šŸ“ŗ Subscribe to our YouTube channel and stay updated with our latest analysis and interviews:šŸ‘‡ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgrNz-aDmcr2uuto8_DL2jg šŸ‘ˆ Download our APP on Apple Store (iOS): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cctvnews-app/id922456579?l=zh&ls=1&mt=8 Download our APP on Google Play (Android): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imib.cctv For more: https://www.cgtn.com/video Most watched videos: Impossible Challenge: 30 seconds to count banknotes BLINDFOLDED https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmP_Ybj-jws Impossible Challenge: Gymnastics Boy Arat Hosseini from Iran! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sxX--U4c8w Impossible Challenge: How to calm babies in 5 seconds? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR3q9sXM7WA
