China to send envoy to promote peace and talks in Middle East

China has expressed deep concern over the prolonged fighting and its spillover effects across the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. It has urged all relevant parties to resolve their differences through dialogue and negotiation and reach a sustainable ceasefire as soon as possible. The remarks follow reports of intense fighting in Yemen and the Red Sea, as well as claims that the United States and Israel may resume military operations against Iran.
