Pope Leo criticised after renewed push for Europe to accept more migrants

Sky News host James Morrow questions Pope Leo's call for greater migrant intake, arguing leaders must also consider the pressures facing host nations. “Pope Leo, the first American holy father, spent the Fourth of July weekend … he went down to Lampedusa … to do a cheesy photo-op where he called on European leaders to rise to the momentous challenge to welcome even more migrants,” Mr Morrow said. “Lampedusa being the entry point for a lot of these people, mostly young men, making it across the Mediterranean. “He made a big open borders pitch very similar to his predecessor Pope Francis about the dignity and the rights of migrants. “I noticed that he didn’t say a lot about the rights of host societies to say we actually can’t take it anymore and this is causing us horrific problems.”
