Fed’s Schmid Talks Policy, Inflation, Credibility, Communication

Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City President Jeff Schmid said monetary policy may be accommodative rather than restrictive, citing underlying demand pressures that could justify a rate hike as soon as September 16. Schmid rejected the idea that the October 28 meeting is off the table due to the midterm election.
