Were Andy Burnham's Manchester City comments 'extraordinary'? | BBC Politics Live

Manchester City have confirmed they have lodged an appeal after an independent commission found the club guilty of all charges relating to breaches of the Premier League's financial regulations. Speaking on the BBC's Politics Live on Thursday, Times journalist Matthew Syed reflected on the case and criticised Andy Burnham's comments on the matter. In an interview with BBC political editor Chris Mason, the PM had said he'd be "really concerned" if the club's owners decided to sell up in light of the ruling. Downing Street subsequently issued a further statement, clarifying those comments, adding "wherever wrongdoing is established, those responsible should face the appropriate consequences."
