Renewed fighting in Yemen's Taiz region has left dozens of people stranded, unable to reach their homes after Houthi forces cut off land and sea routes along the western coastline. Many, including patients who travelled for medical treatment, are now appealing for safe passage through the al-Wadiah border crossing with Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, roughly 100,000 others have been displaced by the escalation, with families living in fragile camps facing disease, hunger and a severe shortage of humanitarian aid, according to local officials.
