Iran has launched fresh ballistic missile strikes towards Jordan, with Jordan's military saying 13 missiles entered its airspace, 10 were intercepted and destroyed, and three fell in remote areas away from population centres. Jordan also said no injuries or deaths were reported. The IRGC has claimed US casualties, but Jordan denies this. Iranian officials say US strikes also hit a wedding party in Sirik province, killing four civilians, including a child. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Mohammad Eslami, a research fellow at the University of Tehran, said Iran is pursuing military and diplomatic approaches simultaneously, marking a shift from previous conflicts when it followed one approach or the other. He said Iran's latest strikes on US locations around Jordan are significant because they could provide Tehran with an opportunity to eventually target Israel in "the next round of military strikes". Eslami argued that the US "miscalculated again" by believing it could maintain a "controlled and limited escalation" in the region, insisting the conflict "does not have any kind of military solution". He said Iran remains serious about diplomatic solutions but argued that President Donald Trump ended the memorandum of understanding and ceasefire negotiations.
