British counter-terror police have arrested a seventh man in connection with the suspected terror incident near RAF Fairford in late September, and he faces potential charges of preparing an act of terror. Police found no viable explosives at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. RAF Fairford was until recently used by the US to launch defensive strikes against Iran, and on Monday US Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied that relocating its bombers to American bases was linked to the earlier incident. Police describe the investigation as complex and say they are working around the clock to understand the motivations behind it, but cannot yet say with any certainty why it happened. The first six men were all released without charge, but on bail. British counter-terror police have the power to hold terror suspects in custody for a total of 14 days without charge.
