Fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces has severely disrupted schooling, destroying facilities and restricting access, especially for children with disabilities. The UN says more than 100,000 children with special needs were in school before the war, yet at Khartoum’s Alnour Institute for the Blind theft and displacement leave two exam classes running and enrolment low.
