South Korea demands Ukraine's apology over disclosure of North Korean POW transfer

South Korea is demanding an apology from Ukraine over the disclosure of a prisoner transfer involving two captured North Korean soldiers. Seoul says Kyiv breached a confidentiality agreement when President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed the transfer at the UN General Assembly, while Ukraine denies any such agreement existed. The men, part of a North Korean contingent sent to aid Russia, sought asylum in South Korea, fearing execution if returned home. The row has also stirred political tension in Seoul, with opposition leaders accusing President Lee Jae-myung’s government of being overly cautious towards Pyongyang.
