Saudi FM tells UN gulf security and free navigation are global priorities

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud tells the UN General Assembly that today’s crises stem from failures to uphold agreed principles, not a lack of resources. He warns that Gulf security is inseparable from global energy supplies, trade and supply chains, and calls for restoring the Strait of Hormuz to its pre‑February status without fees or restrictions. The kingdom backs de‑escalation efforts by Qatar, Pakistan and others, urges a WMD‑free region with verified peaceful nuclear programmes, and insists on freedom of navigation under international law.
