Russia says Ukraine launched biggest drone attack on Moscow this year

Moscow's mayor says Russian forces have repelled the biggest Ukrainian attack on the city so far this year, with about 450 drones shot down across the Moscow region and more than 1,100 drones downed nationwide, according to the Defence Ministry. At least two people were killed and 20 injured, including children, while several fires broke out after the attack on the capital. An oil refinery in the Kapotnya district was hit, while a warehouse and a block of flats were damaged in another district, and more than 400 people, including many children, were moved to safety. The strikes came on the final day of voting in Russia's parliamentary elections, with millions voting for 450 seats in the lower house, while a cyberattack reportedly hit Moscow's online voting system. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the attack, pointing to Ukraine's expanding arsenal of homegrown long-range weapons, and said he would accept a de-escalation deal if the political will is there.
