Rainy season adds to the misery for Sudan's displaced families

Al Jazeera English5 hours ago1:12

Rain has swept through a displacement camp in El Obeid, North Kordofan state, where thousands of families who fled Sudan's war are sheltering in rows of temporary tents that stretch as far as the eye can see. For people who have already lost their homes, the rain brings another daily struggle: keeping children, belongings and the little they have left dry and secure, while the wet conditions raise the risk of disease spreading through the crowded camp. Al Jazeera's Almigdad Alruhaid reports that for these families, who have already lost everything to the conflict, the rainy season means facing the elements with almost no protection, compounding the hardship of displacement with a new layer of daily uncertainty.
