Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has announced the launch of ‘Doha Investment’, a new domestic-focused division of the Qatar Investment Authority aimed at supporting growth and investment inside the country. Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum in New York, Al Thani described regional instability as an “earthquake” that has challenged existing security assumptions, while reaffirming Qatar's focus on diplomacy and economic diversification. The forum is also highlighting investment opportunities in sectors including aviation, education and artificial intelligence, as Qatar seeks to present itself as “open for business” despite continuing regional conflicts. The event comes ahead of the United Nations General Assembly, where Gulf leaders are expected to hold high-level diplomatic meetings, including a scheduled meeting with US President Donald Trump.
