Palestinians question UN's role as Israeli settlement expansion continues

As UN leaders meet in New York, Israeli forces have shut an UNRWA school and seized its East Jerusalem headquarters, defying UN protections. Settler numbers in the occupied West Bank have surged from under 30,000 in 1980 to nearly 800,000 today, with the proposed E1 project threatening to split the territory in two and displace Bedouin communities.
