Wildfires are raging across the world, becoming larger, more intense and lasting longer, according to scientists. Satellite data analysed by NASA shows extreme wildfire activity has more than doubled over the past 20 years. While wildfires are a natural phenomenon that can help some forests, grasslands and wildlife regenerate, scientists say climate change is making many fires more disruptive and harder to contain.
