Torrential rains have triggered severe flash floods across Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, submerging homes, main roads and critical infrastructure. Residents including Abdi Hassan have been forced to salvage what they can as the city's drainage system struggles to cope with the volume of water. Hassan says the rain, which began around midnight, destroyed his family's food and belongings. Commuters have been stranded and access to several areas has been cut off. Somalia's Disaster Management Agency has warned residents in low-lying areas to move to higher ground as the flooding continues. Al Jazeera's Laura Khan reports.
