Satellite images and footage filmed by Al Jazeera reveal the scale of destruction across Israeli-occupied southern Lebanon. Homes, infrastructure and places of historical and cultural significance have been damaged or destroyed, raising concerns about what displaced residents will have left to return to. Israel says its buffer zone is necessary to protect its northern towns, but the destruction raises questions about the future of communities in southern Lebanon. As Israel prepares for elections, the impact of its policies on neighbouring countries remains in focus. Al Jazeera’s Ali Hashem reports on the destruction in southern Lebanon.
