Chaos erupts as Spain moves stranded migrants to new Ceuta shelter

Police in the Spanish territory of Ceuta have begun moving hundreds of migrants to a new, temporary camp, using batons as they struggled to contain crowds. What was meant to be a controlled operation quickly turned chaotic. Migrants who had spent six weeks sleeping on the beach were marched to the new camp under police escort after being promised shelter, but word spread there would not be enough space for everyone. As desperate, exhausted people surged forward, police fired rubber bullets and used batons, leaving some bloodied. Amid the crush, there were also moments of kindness, with a migrant and a police officer together helping a man who had collapsed. Al Jazeera's Peter Smith reports from Ceuta.
