A French appeal court has upheld the conviction for far-right chief Marine Le Pen over the misuse of more than US$4.5 million in EU funds. The court reduced the ban on Ms Le Pen holding public office for 45 months, with 30 of those suspended. This verdict will likely pave the way for her 30-year-old protege, National Rally president Jordan Bardella, to run as the far-right party's candidate. Ross Cullen reports from Paris.
