Key facts
- Zelenskiy hopes for a G20 summit meeting with US and Russia.
- Starlink speed restrictions are affecting Ukrainian military drones.
- US President Donald Trump has not imposed tougher sanctions on Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed hope for a potential meeting with the United States and Russia during the upcoming G20 summit in Miami in December. However, he noted that neither Washington nor Moscow has confirmed the meeting, and other venues, including European or Middle Eastern countries like the UAE or Saudi Arabia, are also being considered. Zelenskiy mentioned that Ukrainian negotiators had spoken with US officials on Friday and reiterated the need for a separate European track for talks with Russia. He also criticized US President Donald Trump's stance on sanctions against Russia. Separately, Zelenskiy stated that Ukraine's military interceptor drones were unable to operate due to speed restrictions on Starlink services, which he attributed to technical issues, though tests in the EU showed no such problems. Trump, however, denied responsibility for the Starlink access issues affecting Ukraine's military operations.
