The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warned on Thursday that escalating tensions in Yemen are pushing its already fragile health system closer to collapse. In a post on X, Ghebreyesus stated that nearly 20 million people require health assistance. He also noted that outbreaks of cholera, measles, polio, and dengue, in addition to malnutrition, are threatening more lives in the country. Ghebreyesus added that "peace is the best medicine."
