President Donald Trump's latest financial disclosure report reveals substantial earnings from cryptocurrency ventures, with over $1.4 billion in reported income for the past year. This figure significantly overshadows his real estate business, which generated approximately $290 million.
The crypto earnings are detailed across several ventures. World Liberty Financial contributed over $500 million from the sale of "governance tokens" and "stablecoins," while CIC Digital LLC generated more than $600 million from selling "meme coins" featuring Trump's likeness. The filings also specify holdings of over $50 million in Bitcoin, held in cold storage, and between $5 million and $25 million in Ethereum.
Buyers, including Chinese billionaire Justin Sun, reportedly purchased $75 million in tokens and $200 million in meme coins. Separately, a company linked to the United Arab Emirates government invested $500 million in World Liberty shortly before Trump's inauguration, with Trump receiving a capital contribution of nearly $200 million. The UAE subsequently gained access to advanced U.S. chips previously restricted due to national security concerns.
Trump's real estate business also saw significant activity, with tens of millions in fees from international deals. Properties in the UAE generated $10.4 million, Saudi Arabia $9 million, and locations in Bucharest, Romania, and Qatar $5 million each. His Mar-a-Lago club in Florida was a major contributor, bringing in $77 million last year.
Trump has stated he does not personally manage his finances, attributing profits to the rising stock market. The report also notes that the value of some tokens and meme coins has declined since their sale.
