President Donald Trump has suffered another loss in his endorsement record, this time in Wyoming's gubernatorial primary where State Sen. Eric Barlow defeated Trump-backed Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder.
Barlow, a fourth-generation Wyoming rancher, centered his campaign on protecting public lands, funding public schools, and expanding rural healthcare access. Degenfelder, however, leaned heavily on Trump's endorsement, with her campaign and supporting groups running attack ads portraying Barlow as too liberal.
Despite these efforts, Barlow managed to overcome Degenfelder's campaign tactics and Trump's endorsement. This defeat adds to a recent string of primary losses for Trump-backed candidates, including a former MyPillow CEO in Minnesota and several candidates in Florida and other states, particularly impacting governor's races.
