Taiwanese musician Devon Song, a member of the pop group Nan Quan Mama, and his divemaster, Sobuj Patwary, were allegedly attacked underwater by a South Korean divemaster known as "Romeo" while diving at Siaes Corner, a popular site west of Koror in Palau. Song reported that Romeo charged at them from below, approximately 25 meters underwater. Reports indicate that Song was punched and kicked, and attempts were made to remove his mask. The South Korean dive guide also allegedly pulled on Patwary's mask strap, tore it off, and removed his regulator, causing him to swallow water. The Palau New World Dive Centre, where Patwary works, has filed reports with the Palau Police Department and Coast Guard, and an investigation is ongoing. Those directly involved have been suspended pending further inquiries.
