SpaceXAI has launched its latest frontier model, Grok 4.6, an advancement over the previous Grok 4.5, with a focus on long-running agents and interactive visual work. The new model achieves frontier intelligence across several agentic coding and knowledge work benchmarks, matching OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index with a score of 61 and trailing Anthropic's Fable 5 by only one point. Grok 4.6 also secured first place on the GDPVal-AA v2, AA-Briefcase, and Harvey LAB benchmarks. The AI model is now available on Grok Build, Cursor, Grok Bot, and via API.
Separately, Elon Musk announced that SpaceX will train its Grok AI on company data, including employee contributions, to imbue the AI with desirable values. Musk suggested employees would act as 'parents' to the AI, shaping its thoughts and beliefs. This initiative comes as AI companies increasingly utilize internal data sources due to the exhaustion of readily available internet data. Meta previously faced employee backlash over a similar data collection effort.
The release of Grok 4.6 coincided with a significant surge in SpaceX stock, which climbed over 6% to trade near $142, surpassing its IPO price. Morgan Stanley reiterated a bullish outlook, presenting a $600 per share target and citing the company's burgeoning AI business, with Grok as a central component of a broader AI platform. Analyst Adam Jones noted that investor enthusiasm for SpaceX's AI capabilities remains limited beyond specific institutional coverage.
In addition to the model release, SpaceXAI launched Grok Bot, an AI agent designed to navigate software and complete tasks across applications, websites, and email inboxes. Users can assign tasks in plain English, and multiple bots can communicate and divide work. This move signifies a broader industry trend towards agentic AI, with companies like OpenAI, Meta, and Anthropic also investing in more autonomous chatbots.
