Russian forces launched missile and drone attacks on Kyiv early on Sunday, causing fires in at least two districts of Ukraine's capital and injuring three people. The Kyiv region reported three additional injuries, including a child, due to drone attacks across the area. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that falling debris ignited a fire in a non-residential part of a northern suburb, where several cars were also ablaze. Another fire broke out south of the city center. Andriy Yermak, President Volodymyr Zelensky's chief of staff, stated that Russia carried out the strike. Zelensky also mentioned that Kyiv will soon hold talks with US officials.
