Russia's FSB security service announced on Thursday the detention of a 35-year-old Swedish national suspected of planning attacks and sabotage within Russia on behalf of Ukraine. The man, identified as Freddy Lindholm, was reportedly apprehended in the western Pskov region, near the borders with Latvia and Belarus. According to the FSB, Lindholm entered Russia under the pretext of joining the Russian army, intending to carry out sabotage and terrorist acts at military facilities using FPV drones. A purported confession video was released by the FSB, in which Lindholm stated he had signed a contract with the Ukrainian army's Aidar Battalion in Ternopil and received training for surveillance purposes. The Swedish Foreign Ministry acknowledged the media reports but stated it was not currently involved in the case. The FSB has increased vigilance against foreign spies and saboteurs since the start of Russia's war with Ukraine.
