Russian President Vladimir Putin has indicated openness to a three-way summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump at the upcoming Apec summit in Shenzhen. Putin stated that the feasibility of such a meeting hinges on China, as the host nation, and emphasized the need to establish a clear agenda. The remarks were made during the Valdai Discussion Club on October 1. Chinese and Russian foreign ministers, Wang Yi and Sergey Lavrov, had previously discussed relations with the United States, as well as the Ukraine and Iran crises. The Apec Economic Leaders’ Meeting is scheduled for November 18-19.
