Morgan Stanley, a major investment bank, has revealed new exposure to XRP through holdings in three exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and has also increased its stakes in BlackRock's Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. These disclosures, made in a Q2 2026 filing with the U.S. SEC, signal growing institutional interest in digital assets.
Morgan Stanley disclosed 6,715 shares in the Franklin XRP ETF, 255 shares in the REX-Osprey XRP ETF, and 67 shares in the Bitwise XRP ETF. The bank also revealed holdings in Armada Acquisition Corp II, a SPAC linked to Ripple-backed Evernorth Holdings.
This follows similar disclosures from JPMorgan Chase, which revealed holdings in the Bitwise XRP ETF, Grayscale XRP ETF, and Armada Acquisition Corp II. JPMorgan also significantly increased its stake in BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) to approximately 10.4 million shares, valued at $356 million, and boosted its call options while reducing put options, indicating a bullish outlook. Furthermore, JPMorgan's holdings in BlackRock's Ethereum ETF (ETHA) surged by 338% to nearly 1.17 million shares, valued at over $14 million, alongside increased investments in other Ethereum-based ETFs.
Despite these institutional moves, XRP ETFs have seen mixed performance, with cumulative inflows of $1.51 million since launch but total assets under management dropping to $942.25 million. XRP price has traded sideways around $1.01.
