Japanese multinational corporations are experiencing substantial business advantages due to the weakening yen, prompting many to elevate their full-year profit projections. During the most recent earnings season, a significant number of these companies revised their forecasts upward. The median expectation for the yen among companies listed on the Topix index has shifted, now standing close to 154 yen per dollar. This represents an increase from the 150 yen to the dollar expectation recorded at the end of May, signaling a more pessimistic outlook for the currency among Japanese businesses, especially after the yen recently depreciated to over 160 against the dollar.
