Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, torching three vehicles and assaulting homes in Talfit and Jalud, south of Nablus. An elderly Palestinian was injured by pepper spray during the attacks, which occurred under the protection of Israeli forces. Israeli forces also issued demolition orders for three tourist facilities in Arraneh, east of Jenin, and bulldozed agricultural land and destroyed part of the drinking water network in Beit Iskaria, south of Bethlehem, to expand the Gush Etzion settlement bloc. Settlers attacked a water transmission pipeline east of Tubas for the eighth time since early July, and attempted to assault a Palestinian family and take control of a vehicle east of Deir Dibwan. These incidents are part of a broader escalation of settler violence, with Human Rights Watch noting a significant increase since December 2022. Previous reports detail arson attacks on homes, vehicles, and agricultural lands, as well as stone-throwing, often facilitated by Israeli forces. In one instance, Israeli forces used bulldozers to facilitate settler incursions into Joseph’s Tomb, firing live ammunition and tear gas at Palestinian residents. Further settler assaults were reported in al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah villages, affecting Palestinians traveling between locations. A recent attack in Tal village resulted in four Palestinian and two Israeli deaths, reportedly prompting further settler reprisals.
