Israeli occupation forces raided a Palestinian family's home in al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, resulting in injuries and a fire. Soldiers reportedly beat members of the Muhammad Hamed Abu Aliya family and fired tear gas canisters inside their residence, causing several individuals, including an elderly man with a heart condition, to suffer from suffocation. The tear gas also ignited a blaze at the entrance of the house, which was extinguished by Civil Defense crews.
During the raid, Israeli forces detained Mo'men Abdel Latif Abu Aliya, 23, and compelled him to dismantle a protective fence surrounding the family home. In a related incident, occupation forces allegedly stole money from Palestinians at a military checkpoint near the village's western entrance. They also detained and assaulted another Palestinian at the checkpoint and briefly detained a child before releasing both.
The village of al-Mughayyir has been subjected to repeated raids by Israeli forces and attacks by settlers.
